As mentioned on our home page, we’ve been in the tanning training business since 1994.We started out by providing educational services for tanning salons in South Carolina, a state that was notorious at the time for having the toughest rules for tanning salons in the United States, if not the world.It didn’t take long for us to expand to Florida then North Carolina.As we were continuing to grow rapidly, the International Smart Tan Network saw what we were doing, and in 1998 asked us to merge our materials in with theirs and contract our educational services with them under their name.We merged our materials and worked with them for eight years.In 2006 we saw a need to make solarium training and salon certification more available through the classroom and started Tanning Dynamics to help satisfy that need. We continued to use the Smart Tan educational materials we developed for another couple of years as they were the best materials available at the time.
It was in 2006 that we noticed we were taking time to cover additional topics outside of Smart Tan's core training materials. Our training program was evolving. In 2008, to make training more consistent between presentation and the written content, we recreated the training content to something that was uniquely Tanning Dynamics.This not only allowed us the opportunity to be consistent with current industry trends and technology, but the freedom to update materials as frequently as the industry updates.This also allowed salons and solariums to be assured they were getting cutting edge materials for their staff.
Today we provide classroom, on-site and online certification training for indoor tanning businesses that are just starting out, and for those wanting to enhance and update their industry skills.We also provide technical and operational assistance for tanning salons and solariums.People from all over the world have trained with us and used our expertise to further their own success.We believe our unparalleled experience and expertise will provide you and your staff with a wealth of knowledge and skills that will increase the performance of your business, and your bottom line.

An 18-year veteran, Steve Chaney entered the indoor tanning industry in the early 1990’s and became one of the industry’s training pioneers.
Chaney has trained many government officials at all levels that oversee the tanning industry.He’s trained salons all over the United States, Canada, South America and Australia.
Beyond training, Chaney has provided consultation services for tanning salon owners and industry professionals around the world.
In 2001 he developed and began directing a certified trainer program, which produced more than 200 tanning industry trainers who also collectively teach classes all over the world.
Chaney’s training strategy incorporates an aggressive standard for excellence that is unmatched in the industry. He goes the extra mile to give his students the “real world” information they’re looking for in addition to the core essentials.
